빛으로 그리다

갤러리 마크에서 2017년 11월 30일부터 12월 23일 까지 미디어아티스트 이필두 작가의 화려한 ‘빛의 영상’ 빛으로 그리다. 전을 선보인다.

<도시그리기>(쿤스트독, 2011)에서 서울을 아파트의 공화국, 무자비하게 증식되는 기형적 도시로 표현한 바 있는 작가는, ‘도시’에 관심을 갖고 세계 여러 곳을 찾는다. 도시를 바라보는 작가의 냉철한 시선은 이번 전시 <빛으로 그리다>에서 생동적이고 화려한 도시를 주제로, 긍정적 시각의 해석을 함축적으로 실현하였다.

프로세싱processing 프로그램을 활용한 인터렉티브와 제너레이션 영상들을 보여주는 이 전시의 메인 영상은 구조물 위에 영상을 투사하는 미디어파사드의 3D 매핑mapping 기법이다. 그가 그리는 빛은 찬란하게 빛나는 태양의 빛이나 광활한 우주의 빛이 아니며, 성스러운 성상의 빛도 아니다. RGB칼라가 뿜어내는 강렬한 빛의 향연은 감상자들을 신선한 감동의 세계로 이끌어 줄 것이다.

<Paint In Light>

From November 30 to December 23, 2017, Gallery MARK is delighted to present “Light Images” <Painting In Light> exhibition by a media artist Lee Pil-doo.

Lee who has painted Seoul, in his previous exhibition, <Painting a City>(Kunst Doc, 2011), as the republic of apartments and an abnormal city that continues to expand in the cruelest and the most inhuman way, visited various parts of the world with a deep interest in ‘cities.’ In the <Painting In Light> exhibition, he will show us rather lively and glamorous side of the cities and his positive perception towards the urban environment.

This exhibition’s main media work which will show interactive and generative visuals, is a media façade generated using 3D video mapping, a means of projecting images to actual structure and architectural details. The lights he chooses to create are not splendid lights of the Sun or the vast universe nor those colors we see on sacred images, but his banquet of visual effects radiating with RGB colors will surely lead the audience to a whole new world of captivating lights.
